Petworth House and Estate (National Trust) contains a huge art collection and deer park. This project focused on visitor experience as we were tasked with establishing different options for play areas in ‘half moon firs’ - their protected woodland, requiring an approach sympathetic to this context. Taking on board playground regulations to permeate the concepts with, we created a circular timber clad welcome building which orientates visitors, using circles to land them and send on their journey, housing toilet facilities and tickets.
